What it is
A shared list with roles and a record. To Do, Next Up, In Progress, Completed. Every task is a Feature (new work), an Enhancement (a change to something) or a Bug (something wrong — a snag). It is built to be usable by anyone on site, including the person who says they do not do apps: big buttons, a word or two per button, a photo from the phone attached to the task.
Who is on the board
- You, with the role that can do everything.
- The trades, with a role that can see the board and move their own work along.
- The client, with a role that can report a snag and comment, and nothing else. They see one board, not your business.
- The office, or an AI assistant that reads the board and writes the weekly summary.
What a week looks like
Monday: the client walks the job and files six snags from their phone with photos. They land in To Do as Bugs, numbered BU-041 to BU-046. You move four to Next Up and give them a priority. The electrician moves BU-043 to In Progress on Tuesday and to Completed on Wednesday, with a photo of the finished socket. Friday: an assistant connected to the board writes “four snags closed this week, two open, one waiting on a part” and you send it to the client. Everything has a name and a time against it.
What it is not
It is not a construction management system. No programme or Gantt chart, no drawing register, no cost tracking, no health and safety paperwork. Larger contractors with formal document control need tools built for that. fenbs suits the small builder, the fit-out team, the kitchen or bathroom installer, and the designer coordinating a handful of trades.
How to try it
Do not evaluate a simple tool with a demo project. Paste in the real list you are working from this week using Add many, add the one person who most often tells you about problems with a small role, connect the AI assistant you already use, and work from the board for a week. At the end ask one question: is the board still true? Your own board is free, so the trial costs nothing but the week.
