The words, explained once.

Short, plain definitions of the ideas behind fenbs — MCP, AI agents, kanban, lanes, audit trails, roles — each with the answer in the first paragraph.

What is MCP (Model Context Protocol)?MCP is the standard way an AI assistant connects to a tool: a fixed list of things it can do, and a sign-in that says who it is doing them as.
What is an AI agent?An AI agent is an assistant that does things, not only says things: it calls tools, reads results and decides what to do next. That is why it needs a role.
What is a kanban board?A kanban board is a wall of columns with cards that move left to right as work progresses. The columns are the state of the work; the card is the work.
What is a lane on a fenbs board?A lane is a column on the board, and it says where a task is: To Do, Next Up, In Progress or Completed. There are four, and they do not change.
What is an audit trail?An audit trail is the record of who changed what, and when. It stops being optional the day an AI assistant can change things too.
What is role-based access control (RBAC)?Role-based access control means people are given roles, and roles are given permissions. You decide what a Viewer can do once, not per person.
What is a backlog?A backlog is the list of work you have written down but not started. In fenbs it is the To Do lane, and the healthiest thing you can do to it is delete from it.
What is AI context?AI context is what an assistant should know before it touches your work: how you like things done, what must never be done, where things are. fenbs keeps it on the board.
Feature, enhancement or bug? The three kinds of taskA feature is something new. An enhancement changes something that exists. A bug is something that is wrong. Every task is one of the three, and the letters in its number say which.
What does priority mean on a fenbs board?Priority is how soon, from P1 (now) to P10 (whenever). It is a number on the task, not a lane, and it is the second thing the board is sorted by.
What are assistant tokens and scopes?A token is how an AI assistant proves it may act for you. Scopes are the three ticks — read, write, comment — that say how far. Both are yours to revoke.
Personal board or team board?A personal board is yours alone: no people to add, no roles, free up to 50 open tasks. A team board is shared: people join with roles, one price for everyone.
What is a read-only board?A read-only board can be read, searched and exported, and nothing on it can be changed by anyone, person or assistant. It happens when a team plan ends, and when a board is shared by link.
