Todoist is the best kind of to-do list: quick to add to, natural-language dates, reminders, projects and labels, on every device. For one person’s life it is hard to beat. fenbs is for the moment a list has to be shared with people who need different permissions, or worked by an AI assistant whose changes you want to be able to see, or read as a board — where is each thing, not only what is left.
Where Todoist is better
- Speed of capture. Type “Call the plumber tomorrow at 9” and it is scheduled.
- Reminders, recurring tasks and due dates as the centre of the tool.
- Personal organisation across work and life, with labels and filters.
- Apps everywhere, polished over many years.
Where fenbs is better
- It is a board. Four lanes show where each task is, not only whether it is done.
- Roles. Other people join with a role that says what they may do; a client can report a bug and nothing else.
