How to Share AI Mode and AI Overview Results

Share a Google AI answer with the right context, check what the link exposes, and keep the original sources available for whoever reads it next.

Updated 5 min read

To share AI Mode or an AI Overview, use Share beside the Google AI response and copy the generated link. Open that link separately before sending it so you know what the recipient will receive. Include the original source when the answer supports a work decision.

A link alone rarely explains why a result matters. Tools like fenbs keep a useful research link beside the project conclusion and the work it creates, so the next assistant does not have to guess what you accepted.

How do you share an answer from a computer?

  1. Open the AI Overview in Google Search or the response in AI Mode.
  2. Find Share at the bottom of the AI response and choose the copy-link option.
  3. Paste the generated link into a draft message. Give it a short description of the question it answers.
  4. Open the link in a separate browser window and review the visible content before sending it.

Use the response sharing control rather than assuming the browser address preserves the answer. Google documents the current controls in its computer sharing guide (opens in a new tab). If the interface looks different, follow the options shown in your account.

Say you are comparing materials for a client presentation. Your message could explain, “This answer helped identify questions about durability; the manufacturer documents below still need review.” That gives the recipient a useful starting point without presenting an unchecked answer as an approved specification.

What changes on Android and iPhone?

On Android, find the answer in the Google app or mobile web, then tap Share beneath the response and copy its link. Google shows the supported route in its Android instructions (opens in a new tab). Keep the resulting link in your message draft while you review it.

On iPhone, Google’s documented route uses the Google app. Look for Share below the response or along the bottom of the screen, then copy the link. See the iPhone sharing instructions (opens in a new tab) if you cannot find the control.

After pasting, check that the destination is the answer you intended to share. A screenshot can help a recipient recognize the result, but add the source links separately so they can inspect the evidence. For a longer exchange, the separate guide to sharing a Google AI Mode chat covers the conversation itself.

What should you inspect before sending the link?

Google says a shared AI Mode thread can expose the other questions and answers already in that thread, even when the link points to one response. Later private follow-ups are not automatically added. A shared AI Overview opens in AI Mode. Review the whole shared view, including the original question, before treating it as ready to send.

  • Read the question for client names, internal figures, addresses, or other details that do not belong in the message.
  • Check whether earlier turns reveal a different project or a discarded assumption.
  • Mark the conclusion as checked, provisional, or simply an idea to investigate.
  • Ask the recipient to confirm the link opens, especially when their account or device differs from yours.

Testing in a signed-out window is a useful first check, but it cannot reproduce every recipient’s account settings. For work that matters, include a short written explanation and the evidence links so the message remains understandable if the AI view is unavailable.

How do you make the shared answer useful for research?

Read the sources before using the answer to justify a choice. Google’s AI Mode guidance (opens in a new tab) warns that responses can contain mistakes. A relevant citation is only a starting point: check that the page supports the particular sentence you intend to repeat.

A small record to send with a shared result
KeepWhat to write
QuestionWhat you were trying to find out, including the relevant US location or audience.
SourceThe original document or publisher page, with the section you checked.
ConclusionThe narrow statement you can support from that source.
UncertaintyWhat is missing, disputed, or waiting on an expert.
Next stepWho will check the remaining point before anyone acts.

Avoid copying the entire AI response into every project note. Save the finding that changes the next action, and preserve its limits. This is one practical use of an AI brain: useful work remains available after the search session ends.

In fenbs, keep the checked conclusion in an AI context note and the source in Links and listings; how it works explains how connected assistants read the project record.

How fenbs helps

Keep the evidence beside the project question

Add the shared answer and its original sources to the project’s Links and listings. Record which finding you checked and turn the unanswered question into a task, so another connected assistant can continue from the evidence you reviewed.

What if Share is missing or the link stops working?

Check Google’s sharing help for the current history and personalization requirements before changing account settings. Review the privacy implications of those settings yourself. If sharing is unavailable, send a short summary with the original public sources instead of repeatedly forwarding an unusable search address.

Google provides Manage public links through AI Mode history for reviewing and removing shared links. Use it when a result should no longer be shared. Treat removal as control over that link; do not assume it removes text or screenshots someone already copied.

When replacing an outdated answer, tell the people who relied on it what changed. Update the project’s conclusion and remaining work too. A saved handoff in fenbs can tell the next assistant which research result was replaced and which source now applies.

How to do this with fenbs

  1. Create a free account and add the project the search belongs to.
  2. Save the share link and the original source links in Links and listings, with names that describe what each supports.
  3. Add an AI context note separating the checked conclusion from open questions. Create a task for any remaining verification.
  4. Connect a supported assistant using Integrations, then ask it to read the project context before continuing. Save progress before the session ends.

fenbs is free for one person, with no credit card. It does not create Google share links or verify Google’s answers. If you only need to send one answer once, Google’s sharing control and a clear message may be enough; fenbs fits when the research needs to survive several work sessions.

Questions people ask.

Is copying the search address enough?

Use the answer’s Share control when it is available. A general search address is not a dependable record of the exact AI answer you read.

Can I send only one sentence from a longer answer?

You can write a short summary yourself and include the original source. Check the shared view before adding an AI Mode link because the thread may reveal more than the sentence you selected.

Does the recipient need the same phone as me?

Ask them to test the link in the browser or app they use. Include a brief explanation and source links so they can still understand the finding if the shared view is unavailable.

Does fenbs automatically collect my Google searches?

No. Add useful links and checked findings yourself, or ask a connected assistant to record the material you provide within its access.
