Notion AI Transcription: Turn Meetings into Reviewed Notes
Notion AI can transcribe meeting audio and generate structured notes directly in your workspace. Here is how to start, what language and audio options are supported, how to check a transcript, and how to carry the confirmed decisions forward.

Notion AI can record and transcribe a meeting you join from your browser, or process an audio file you upload afterward. The result is a structured set of notes in your Notion workspace: a summary, action items, and a searchable transcript. Like all AI transcription, the output needs a human review before decisions are treated as confirmed.
The value is in what happens after the transcript. Tools like fenbs keep the confirmed decisions and next steps outside Notion so every connected assistant can act on them in subsequent work, whether or not they have access to that Notion page.
How to start Notion AI meeting notes
Notion AI meeting notes are available on plans that include Notion AI. To start, open a new page or a designated meeting notes template in your workspace, then use the Notion AI meeting notes feature to join the meeting or upload a recording.
- In Notion, create a new page for the meeting or open your meeting notes template.
- Select the Notion AI meeting notes option. Notion AI joins the meeting as a participant via your browser—it does not require a separate app install.
- Start the meeting. Notion notifies the other participants that AI is recording and transcribing.
- When the meeting ends, Notion AI processes the recording and adds the summary, action items, and transcript to the page.
- Review and edit the notes before sharing or acting on them.
How to upload audio for transcription
If you have a recording from another platform—a Zoom local recording, a Teams export, or a voice memo—you can upload the audio file to a Notion page and ask Notion AI to transcribe it. Check Notion's current help center for the supported audio formats and file size limits, as these change.
Upload quality affects transcript accuracy significantly. Clear audio with a stable connection and minimal background noise produces a much more accurate transcript than a compressed recording with overlapping speakers.
Which languages Notion AI meeting notes support
Notion AI meeting notes support a set of languages that Notion publishes on its help center. The supported list changes as the feature develops. Before relying on it for a non-English meeting, check the current Notion help page for language support rather than assuming your language is covered.
For mixed-language meetings, accuracy typically varies between the languages present. If the meeting switches between two languages, check the transcript sections for each language separately and correct errors before the notes are distributed.
How to check a Notion AI transcript
Read the action items first. These are the part of a transcript most likely to be incomplete or misleading—a suggested action from one participant may appear alongside confirmed commitments from another without distinguishing them. Edit any action item that was proposed but not agreed to before the notes leave the room.
For decisions, read the summary section against your own recollection of what was agreed. A summary can condense or slightly shift the meaning of what was said. When a decision is significant—a budget approval, a project direction, a technical choice—restate it in your own words in the notes rather than relying on the AI's phrasing.
Move confirmed decisions into the work record
After reviewing the transcript, add each confirmed decision to fenbs as a Decisions and rules entry with the meeting date and the people present. Create a task for each agreed action item. History records who made the change and when, so the record of what was agreed is available to any connected assistant.

Using Notion AI meeting notes with Zoom
Notion AI joins a Zoom meeting through your browser—you open the Notion AI meeting notes feature and it connects alongside your normal Zoom participation. It does not require a Zoom integration or a Zoom add-on. You and the other participants hear it join as a named participant, which Notion uses to identify who is speaking.
Zoom's own AI Companion is a separate feature. If both Notion AI and Zoom AI Companion are active in the same meeting, they produce two independent summaries. Decide in advance which one you will use as the record to avoid duplicate or conflicting notes.
What Notion AI transcription does not do
Notion AI transcription produces notes in Notion. It does not carry the decisions into other tools, remind participants of their action items, or track whether the tasks were completed. Those steps happen after the meeting, in whatever system your team uses to manage work.
For AI-assisted notes more broadly within Notion, see Notion AI for notes. For how Notion AI compares with its MCP integration, see Notion MCP vs Notion AI.
How to do this with fenbs
fenbs does not connect to Notion directly. The connection happens when you review the transcript and move the confirmed decisions and tasks into your project. That step—reviewing, confirming, and recording—is where the meeting becomes actionable work rather than a document that gets filed and forgotten.
- Create a free account and open the project the meeting was about.
- After reviewing the Notion AI transcript, add each confirmed decision to Decisions and rules in fenbs: what was agreed, who decided, and the meeting date.
- Create a task in fenbs for each action item with the person responsible and the next step.
- Update Where we left off with the current state of the project after the meeting.
- Before the next session, read the decisions and tasks so any connected assistant starts from what was actually agreed.
