How to Use AI to List on eBay
AI can draft eBay listing titles, descriptions, and pricing guidance from your item details — but the accuracy has to start with you. Here is a practical workflow for sellers.

You can use AI to draft eBay listing titles, descriptions, and item condition notes faster than writing each one from scratch. Tools like fenbs keep your reusable listing prompts and shop rules in one place, so each batch of listings follows the same standards and style.
The accuracy of a listing starts with you. AI drafts from the details you give it. If you give it incomplete or incorrect item information, the listing will reflect that. Before you use AI to write anything, gather the facts about the item: model, condition, dimensions, accessories included, and any known faults.
Gather the item facts before you prompt
A listing is only as good as the item information behind it. Before opening an AI session, write down everything a buyer would need to know: the exact make and model, condition grade, any wear or damage, what is included in the package, and any relevant specifications like size, color, or compatibility.
For electronics and branded goods, find the original product name from the manufacturer's documentation or the product box rather than from an AI or a search result. AI can misremember model numbers and product names, and a wrong model number on eBay creates returns and disputes.
Draft the title with AI
eBay titles are 80 characters maximum and should include the brand, product name, model, key specifications, and condition. Ask the AI to draft three or four title options from your item facts and pick the one that is most accurate and complete. Avoid keyword stuffing — eBay's search algorithm weighs relevance, and buyers scan titles quickly.
A useful prompt: "Write three eBay listing titles for this item. Each must be under 80 characters, include the brand, model, and condition, and use plain language a buyer would search for." Then give the item details. Choose the most accurate option and edit it if needed.
Write the description
eBay descriptions reward specificity and honesty. Buyers scan for the condition of what they are buying and anything that might affect their decision. Ask the AI to draft a description that leads with the item condition, lists what is included, and notes any faults or wear.
Give the AI a structure to follow: "Write an eBay item description with these sections: (1) overall condition in one sentence, (2) a bullet list of what is included, (3) any faults or visible wear, (4) one sentence about compatibility or fit if relevant." That structure produces descriptions buyers find useful and reduces messages asking for clarification.
Check the listing before publishing
Before you publish any AI-drafted listing, read it against your item facts. Check that the model number, condition, and included accessories match exactly. If the listing says "original box included" and the box is missing, that is a return waiting to happen.
Also check eBay's listing policies for the category. Some categories have specific requirements for what must appear in the description, and certain items have restrictions on how they can be listed. Review eBay's seller guidelines directly for the current rules in your category.
Keep reusable listing prompts and shop rules in one place
fenbs keeps your listing prompts and shop decisions in Skills and prompts and Decisions and rules. Save the prompt structure that produces your best descriptions, the condition grading language you use consistently, and any category-specific rules. Every AI session starts from the same standards rather than from a blank prompt.

Build a consistent style for your shop
Buyers who find your shop return partly because the listings are reliable and easy to read. Consistent language for condition grades — "Very Good: minor scuffs on base, no scratches on screen" — tells buyers exactly what to expect and reduces the questions that delay sales.
Write your condition grading descriptions once and save them as a prompt template. Each new listing uses the same language, adjusted for the specific item. Over time that consistency becomes part of what buyers trust about your shop.
How to do this with fenbs
- Create a free account and set up a project for your eBay shop or a specific category you sell.
- Save your listing prompt templates in Skills and prompts — one for each category or listing type you use regularly.
- Record your condition grading language and any category rules in Decisions and rules so every session follows the same standard.
- Add a task for each listing batch and note any category-specific checks to run before publishing.
- After a listing generates returns or questions, record a lesson: what was unclear and how to describe it better next time.
fenbs does not connect to eBay or publish listings automatically. You use it to keep the prompts and standards that make each session consistent. The publishing step happens in your eBay seller account.
Using AI for pricing research
AI can suggest a pricing range for an item, but treat that as a starting point only. Check the actual sold prices on eBay for the same item in the same condition — eBay shows sold listings in its search when you filter by "Sold." That is the most accurate pricing data for your specific item and market.
AI does not have access to current eBay sold data. Its pricing suggestions come from its training data, which may be months or years old for a specific item category. Use it to understand what factors affect price; use eBay's sold listings to set the actual number.
