How to Save Read AI Meeting Notes
Open the meeting report and use Download to save the available content your account is allowed to export. Check the file, its storage location, and the accuracy of decisions before relying on the saved copy.

To save Read AI meeting notes as a file, open the finished meeting report, select Download near the top right, and choose the available report content you need. Downloads depend on your access and workspace controls, so check the options in that report rather than assuming every format is available.
A saved file is a snapshot, not proof that the notes are correct or that everyone should receive them. Review important outcomes first. fenbs can then keep the confirmed decisions and follow-up tasks available to your connected assistants while the source report stays in its approved location.
What are the steps for downloading your notes?
- Open Read and find the processed report for the correct meeting. Confirm the date and title, especially for a recurring meeting.
- Check that the content you need has finished processing. Read the summary and inspect the relevant source before saving an approved version.
- Select Download near the top right of the report. Choose the available section or content option that matches your purpose.
- Save the file in an approved location with a useful meeting date, title, and draft or reviewed status.
- Open the downloaded file and verify its content. Confirm that it contains the notes you intended, rather than an empty file or a different section.
Read’s download instructions (opens in a new tab) say viewers may be able to download report content, unless their workspace has disabled downloads. The menu starts a download for the selected report section. Use the options actually shown in your account; recording downloads have additional requirements.
If you only need to return to the report online, keep its link in your approved project records instead of creating another file. A link depends on continued access to Read. An exported file has its own storage and sharing responsibilities, even if the original report later changes.
Should you keep a report link, an export, or a checked recap?
Choose by what the next person needs. A report link points back to the source and its current permissions. A file preserves the selected content at a moment in time. A checked recap carries only the agreed outcome and next actions. None of these automatically replaces the others.
| What you keep | Useful for | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Original report link | Returning to the source without making another full copy. | The intended person still has access to the right report. |
| Downloaded content | Keeping an allowed snapshot for an approved recordkeeping purpose. | The export is complete, correctly labeled, and stored with appropriate access. |
| Reviewed decision and task record | Continuing the work without rereading the whole discussion. | A person confirmed the decision, owner, next step, and remaining uncertainty. |
For example, a project lead may need a saved report for reference, while the teammate implementing the decision needs a clear task and source pointer. Copying the full transcript into every work tool creates more versions to manage. Keep the smallest record that serves the purpose.
If your goal is to give another person access inside Read, the separate guide to sharing Read notes covers that process. Exporting a file and granting report access are different choices.
Why is Download missing or unavailable?
First confirm that you are signed in to the right account and can open the report itself. Then ask the owner or workspace administrator whether downloading is allowed. Do not work around a restriction by copying content into another service or capturing screenshots without approval.
A feature visible in someone else’s report may not be available in yours. Check the selected content and the controls in your account, then consult the official download guide or support if the behavior is unclear. Avoid assuming that a transcript, summary, and recording all have the same export options.
If access to the report is the problem, Read’s report-access guide (opens in a new tab) explains owner and editor controls. Ask for the access needed for the legitimate task rather than requesting a public link as a shortcut.
How do you check the saved file for mistakes?
Open the actual file from its destination, not just the download notification. Confirm the meeting identity, section, and completeness. Check the beginning and end, and compare important entries with the report. If formatting changed, make sure a heading has not become detached from the actions it describes.
- Decision wording: distinguish a suggestion from an approved choice, including any conditions.
- Owners: confirm that the named person accepted the work rather than merely being mentioned.
- Dates and numbers: check deadlines, quantities, units, and corrected figures.
- Open questions: keep uncertainty visible when the source does not settle it.
- Review status: label the copy as a draft until a person has checked the outcome.
Suppose the notes say a vendor was selected, but the meeting only agreed to request a second quote. Save the second quote as the next action and keep selection unresolved. Do not let a polished summary supply authority the meeting never gave it.
The AI meeting note taker guide explains the broader review problem. In fenbs, the checked decision and task can stay together, so a later assistant does not have to guess which sentence in a saved report should drive the work.
Where should the saved copy live, and who maintains it?
Use the storage location your organization approves for this kind of discussion. Check its audience before uploading the file. A folder used for public proposals may be the wrong destination for notes that also contain internal planning or personal information.
Give each reviewed copy a date and a clear status, and keep a pointer to the source report when appropriate. If someone corrects an important decision later, replace or clearly supersede the old copy and alert anyone working from it. An export will not update itself when the online report changes.
Name a person responsible for retention and corrections. Keep drafts only as long as your approved policy requires, and account for email attachments and other distributed copies. Downloading makes a new record to manage; it is not simply another way to view the same controlled page.
Does removing a report also delete your saved copy?
A file you downloaded needs separate handling in the place you saved it. Do not assume an access change in Read reaches files on your computer, in shared storage, or in someone else’s inbox. Follow the retention process that applies to each location.
Read’s ownership guide (opens in a new tab) distinguishes the owner’s ability to delete a report from another person using Remove report to remove their own access. Confirm which action you are taking before treating the original source as deleted.
If the purpose is to remove sensitive information, involve the appropriate owner or administrator. Explain where copies exist and which version needs correction or deletion. Keep the request focused on the specific record rather than sending the content around again.
How to do this with fenbs
- Create a free account and add the project the meeting concerned. One person can start free, with no credit card.
- Record the person-confirmed decisions in Decisions and rules. State who chose the outcome and what it applies to; keep proposals or missing approvals open.
- Add follow-up tasks with a clear intended result and the next step. Keep the source report or file in its approved location and include suitable references.
- Connect a supported assistant through Integrations. Ask it to read the Rules and project context before working from the meeting outcome.
- Before stopping, save Where we left off with what was completed, checked, and still waiting on a person.
fenbs does not download or automatically import Read notes. It is not the right fit for storing a replayable recording or replacing your approved document archive. Use it when the useful next step is preserving the checked decisions and following through on the work.
Save the decision the team can act on
Put the confirmed choice and its reason in fenbs, then link the follow-up work to the project. Connected assistants can read that record before continuing. Keep an unresolved choice open until a person decides, even when the meeting summary sounds certain.

A saved meeting note describes a conversation; a completed task needs evidence that the work happened. The release notes from tasks guide covers that next distinction, and the AI at work hub collects related practical workflows.
