Claude ZoomInfo Connector: Account Research and Access
Claude has no native ZoomInfo connector, but you can combine Claude with ZoomInfo data for account research using authorized export and API routes. Here is how to assess your options and keep the research organized.
Updated 5 min read
Claude does not have a built-in ZoomInfo connector that pulls contact or company data automatically. Getting ZoomInfo information into Claude requires an authorized route, either through a CSV export from your ZoomInfo account or through ZoomInfo's API if your contract includes programmatic access. Tools like fenbs preserve the research brief, the verified source references, and the next steps so work is not lost when a session ends.
The right route depends on your use: occasional account lookups need only an export and a paste, while a repeating research workflow benefits from a more structured connection. Either way, start by confirming what your ZoomInfo contract permits.
What ZoomInfo access your contract allows
ZoomInfo access is governed by your subscription tier and the data export terms in your agreement. Most plans allow human-initiated exports for sales use. API access, bulk download, and programmatic enrichment are typically add-ons. Check with your account owner or ZoomInfo's help center before assuming that any technical option you find is permitted under your contract.
This matters because building a workflow around an access method that violates your terms could lead to account suspension. Verify first, build second.
Route 1: export and paste
For a small number of accounts, the simplest approach is to search ZoomInfo, export the relevant records as a CSV or copy the key fields, and paste them into a Claude session. Claude can then help you analyze the accounts, draft outreach, or identify patterns across the list.
This approach is always permitted for human-driven research under any ZoomInfo plan. The limit is scale: it is practical for tens of records, not hundreds.
Route 2: ZoomInfo API with an MCP server
ZoomInfo provides a REST API for customers on eligible plans. If your plan includes API access, you can build or use an MCP server that calls the ZoomInfo API, then connect that server to a Claude client. MCP is a standard way for an AI app to call an outside tool, so a ZoomInfo MCP server would let Claude query accounts or enrichment data within a session.
Before building this: confirm your API entitlement with ZoomInfo support, review the API's rate limits and field availability, and check whether any fields you plan to use are restricted to specific license types. ZoomInfo's API documentation at their developer portal is the authoritative reference.

What to include in your research brief
Account research done with Claude is only as good as the context you give it. Before each session, write down: which accounts you are researching, what questions you are trying to answer, which ZoomInfo fields are relevant, and what output you need.
A brief that says "find companies in fintech with 50-200 employees and a recent funding round" is easier for Claude to work with than a loose instruction to "find good prospects." Keeping that brief in writing also means that the next session, or a different AI, can start from the same point.
Keep the research brief and sources together
Add your ZoomInfo research project to fenbs with the target account criteria and the key findings as context notes. Save verified account references in Links and listings so any connected assistant can read the list in the next session without you repeating the background.

Structuring the research for better Claude output
The more structure you give Claude when working with ZoomInfo data, the more useful the output will be. Rather than dumping a full CSV and asking Claude to "find good prospects," break the task into steps: first filter by industry and company size, then ask Claude to identify patterns in the filtered list, then ask it to draft outreach for the top ten.
ZoomInfo data often has incomplete fields for smaller companies. Tell Claude which fields are reliable and which may be missing. "Assume the employee count is accurate for companies above 100 employees but may be outdated for smaller ones" gives Claude the context to qualify its findings rather than treating all data as equally reliable.
Save the criteria you used and the reasoning behind them before the session ends. The same criteria applied to a refreshed ZoomInfo list next month should produce comparable results. Keeping that logic written down prevents the research from being rebuilt from scratch each cycle.
Data handling and compliance
ZoomInfo data includes contact information that is subject to privacy regulations, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and, where applicable, the EU's GDPR. Review your ZoomInfo contract for the permitted uses of the data and make sure any workflow you build stays within those terms.
Do not paste contact data into a public or shared AI session. Use a business Claude account where conversation data handling matches your organization's privacy policy.
How to do this with fenbs
- Create a free account at fenbs. Add a project for your account research program.
- Write the research brief as the project description: the account criteria, the question you are answering, and the output you need.
- Add each verified source or account segment as a link in Links and listings with a status note.
- After each Claude session, save the key findings as a context note and update Where we left off with the next accounts to check.
- Connect Claude over MCP from Integrations so your next session reads the research context and findings before starting work.
fenbs does not connect to ZoomInfo and does not store contact records. It stores the research brief, the agreed decisions, and the verified findings so the work carries across sessions. For an overview of other connector options, see Claude connectors and plugins.
