AI Paper Generators: Draft From Research You Can Verify

Use an AI paper generator to organize evidence and draft from sources you have read. Keep the research question, citations, and unresolved checks visible throughout.

Use an AI paper generator to turn your own verified research into an outline and a provisional draft. Give it the evidence and the boundaries first, then check every factual claim and citation before the draft becomes your work. A convincing paragraph is useful only when you can explain what supports it.

Keep the research record separate from the generated prose. fenbs can hold the project, source links, research decisions, and next checks so another connected assistant starts with the same evidence boundaries. It does not find missing evidence or certify that a paper is accurate.

How do you start with evidence instead of a blank prompt?

  1. Write one research question and the assignment or publication requirements. Identify what you must demonstrate rather than merely describe.
  2. Read the source material and make a small evidence list. For each source, record its title, authors, publication details, stable link, and the passages relevant to your question.
  3. Ask for an outline using only that evidence list. Require an explicit gap wherever a proposed section lacks support.
  4. Approve the argument yourself, then request one short section at a time. Compare each section with its sources before requesting the next.

Say you are writing about campus transit use. A survey of students on one campus cannot establish what all US students prefer. Write that restriction beside the source before drafting; otherwise a smooth introduction can silently expand a narrow finding into a national claim.

Broader advice on writing research papers with AI covers the full writing process; this workflow focuses on controlling what a generator may put into an outline and draft.

What should the generator receive before it drafts?

Supply a short research packet: the question, intended audience, approved sources, your working argument, and the required citation style. Give sources short identifiers such as S1 and S2. Those labels make it easier to spot an unsupported sentence than a polished bibliography that looks complete.

Separate source text from your interpretation. Mark direct quotations clearly, retain their locations, and explain what you think each passage means in a different field. This prevents a generator from treating your tentative idea as a finding already established by the source.

A bounded drafting request
Draft a provisional outline answering the research question below.
Use only sources S1-S4 supplied here.
For each section, list the argument, supporting source IDs, and limitations.
Mark missing support as EVIDENCE NEEDED. Do not invent references.
Do not draft results, methods, or quotations that I have not supplied.
Wait for my approval before writing paragraphs.

Keep the packet small enough to review. Add more material when a specific gap requires it. The explanation of an AI brain describes why durable work context is more useful than repeatedly pasting a growing conversation.

How do you check that a citation is real and relevant?

Check existence and support separately. First, open the publisher or repository record and match the title, authors, date, and identifier. Then open the actual paper and find the passage supporting your sentence. A real reference can still be the wrong reference for a claim.

Crossref describes its metadata service (opens in a new tab) as records deposited by publishers and other trusted sources. That makes it useful for checking bibliographic details, but metadata alone does not show that an article supports your interpretation. The content check still requires reading.

If you need to locate a title, Google Scholar search help (opens in a new tab) explains title searches, library access, and alternate versions. Distinguish an abstract you accessed from a full paper you read. Never let the draft imply you checked methods or limitations that were unavailable.

Use separate guides for finding research with AI search and reading papers with AI; finding a reference and understanding its argument are different checks.

How do you turn an outline into a defensible draft?

Approve the proposed order before generating prose. Each section should answer a part of the research question and add something distinct. Delete sections included only because they resemble the shape of an academic paper, particularly fabricated methods or results for work you never conducted.

Ask for a claim list beside each generated section: sentence, source identifier, supporting location, and remaining uncertainty. Revise the sentence when its wording is stronger than the source. Words such as causes, proves, always, and all deserve particular attention.

For example, change a broad claim that a transit policy improved attendance into the narrower observation the supplied study actually measured. Preserve qualifications and contradictory results rather than asking the generator to make the argument sound more certain.

Keep approved research boundaries in fenbs Decisions and rules, so the next assistant can see which claims you accepted and which still need evidence.

What mistakes should stop the drafting process?

Stop when the generator supplies an unfamiliar reference, a quotation you cannot locate, or an analysis you cannot reproduce. Remove the unsupported passage and return to the evidence. Asking for a different citation after the fact can conceal the original problem instead of repairing it.

Check the rules of your course, institution, or intended publication before using generated text. For example, ICMJE guidance on authors and contributors (opens in a new tab) keeps humans responsible for AI-assisted submissions and describes disclosure expectations. It is publishing guidance for its setting, not blanket permission for every assignment.

For the surrounding process, use the guide to AI research workflows. The separate guide to AI email generators handles correspondence rather than evidence-based academic drafts.

How fenbs helps

Keep the evidence behind the draft

Create a research project in fenbs and keep the source links with notes about what you verified. Record your chosen scope and open checks before changing assistants. The next connected assistant can read that work record without treating a generated bibliography as established evidence.

How to do this with fenbs?

  1. Create a free account and add a project for the paper with the research question and completion requirements.
  2. Add verified references to Links and listings. Keep the source identifier and the supporting location in the relevant research note or task.
  3. Record your approved scope and evidence requirements in Decisions and rules. Keep unresolved interpretations open for a person to decide.
  4. Ask a connected assistant to read the project context before drafting and save progress afterward, including the section checked and the next unresolved claim.

fenbs is useful when research decisions and checks need to survive a new session. It is not a paper generator, reference manager, or plagiarism checker. Keep the manuscript and complete bibliography in the tools you use for writing and citations.

When is the generated draft ready for your final revision?

You should be able to explain the argument without reading the draft, open every cited source, and identify which statements are evidence and which are your interpretation. Check the reference list against the citations in both directions, then remove unsupported or unused entries.

Finish in your own voice and retain the disclosure your setting requires. The practical guide to using AI at work and the wider AI at work library offer related workflows when this research becomes another project.

Questions people ask.

Can a generator create the research evidence for my paper?

No. Generated prose is not evidence. Use actual research, data, or texts, and identify gaps explicitly when the material does not support the proposed claim.

Should I trust a reference because its DOI works?

A working DOI helps establish that an identified work exists. It does not show that the work supports your sentence, so read the relevant passage and check its context.

Can I use AI to rewrite a paragraph I already wrote?

Check the rules for your setting first. If permitted, review the revision against your original meaning and sources because an editing request can still change a claim.

Does fenbs import the generator conversation?

No. Save the verified findings, source links, decisions, and next checks explicitly. fenbs does not read or import your past AI chats.
